Kindergarten Readiness

The students should be able to: 

  • Say first and last name
  • Print first name
  • Hold crayons, pencils, & Scissors correctly
  • Recite the letters of the alphabet (ABC song)
  • Count to 10 or higher
  • Identify numbers 1 to 10 in print (not in order)
  • Identify basic shapes: triangle, square, circle, & rectangle
  • Understand concepts: top, bottom, first, last, same, and different
  • Identify basic colors (red, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple, black & brown)
  • Follow 2 step directions
  • Demonstrate basic social skills (share and take turns)
  • Tie shoes
  • Zip/button coat
  • Be able to handle own bathroom needs
