Recess/Weather

Throughout the school year, weather related issues may affect the student’s ability to be outside before school or during recess. Therefore, we will be using the following guidelines to determine whether the students are indoors or outdoors. Students will be indoors: 

• If it is raining

• If the temperature and/or wind chill factor feels like twenty degrees or below

• If there is an excessive heat index

For temperature related issues, we use the www.weather.com website. In some cases, the students may be allowed outside during recess but may be limited to their points of access on the playground, particularly where there is excessive mud or ice.

Recesses take place during lunchtime and a morning or afternoon break. Please send your student with the appropriate clothing based on the weather.
